Animal Equality’s undercover investigation inside East Anglian Pig Company, the UK’s third-largest pig meat producer and a Freedom Food member, reveals severe suffering behind claims of “high-welfare” farming. Over 120 hours of footage show piglets killed through blunt-force trauma, sows confined in restrictive stalls, and animals displaying clear signs of stress such as bar-biting and swaying. The investigation documents injured and paraplegic piglets, joint lesions caused by harsh conditions, dead piglets in farrowing crates, and piglets beaten with an iron bar. It also exposes routine tail docking without anesthesia, workers kicking, hitting, and throwing pigs, and an adult pig cut into while fully conscious.
