Animal Equality returned to Mexico’s government-owned slaughterhouses in 2017, uncovering extreme and systematic cruelty. Investigators documented pigs left fully conscious as they were stabbed, skinned, and dismembered, some taking up to 15 minutes to die. Cows and bulls also suffered horrific abuse, including workers inflicting pain to make them bleed faster—all in clear violation of regulations.
